Makes: 6 servings
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb Evergood Polish Kielbasa or Garlic Sausages, diced
1 lb ziti pasta
1 (15 oz.) container ricotta cheese
1 egg, beaten
2 (28 oz.) jars of marinara sauce
2 c mozzarella cheese, shredded
salt and pepper
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350º
Cook ziti according to package directions (approximately 10-12 min).
In a sauté pan heat 1 tablespoon olive oil and sauté sausage on medium heat for about 10 min.
In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper, mix to blend.
Pour 2 cup marinara sauce in bottom of greased 9 x13 inch baking dish.
Add the sausage to remaining 6 cup sauce.
Toss cooked ziti with 3 cup marinara sauce.
Place half the pasta in baking dish, top with 2 cup marinara, ricotta mixture and 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
Top with remaining ziti, marinara sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Bake until casserole is heated through and cheese is bubbly and lightly browned on top, 30-40 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
